What runs where
39 of the 55 tools run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere; the only network requests are for the page itself and, for MAC tools, static slices of the IEEE dataset.
DNS, HTTP, TLS and IP lookups need a vantage point on the internet, so they query the target from our servers. Every one of them says so on the page, results carry a timestamp, and nothing is scanned that you did not ask for.
Full TLS scans run on an isolated scan host with live progress and an unlisted report link that expires. The quick check answers first while the full scan waits its turn.
